Yes yes they want our money, maybe because they need funding to, I don't know keep open? Fund more improvements? Your guess is as good as mine. Think on this though, I paid for destiny and its expansions and that game is poop. I paid for dark souls 2 and all of its expansions and it was great. How much have you HAD to spend on dust for all of its content? Yes you spend money on games you should know this by now. At least in dust you have a choice. Please get over your selves now.
You always have to ask if something's worth it I guess. Destiny has always been pretty crap, and I don't think most people thought that was going to change. Dark Souls 2, even if you like DS1 better, was still a strong title with a fair amount of replay. More of the same was always going to be good I think.
Warlords... well, I think the patch is a little broken because listed features appear to be missing. So, it probably needs a hotfix before people get too whatever about it. I do feel like the Warbarge is a bit farmville, bit freemium mobile. I can see why something that seems pretty blatantly pay-2-win would rile people, and this is the goto place to vent your bile at CCP.
I think the issue for a lot of this new stuff isn't that AUR/cash-money is involved necessarily. It's the random elements, amount of cash-money required, and the inconvenience factor if you don't shell out.
You could buy Destiny 10 times over in AUR, and never get one of those new suits that were added to strongboxes. The problem isn't the money is involved, it's that content was put behind a lottery. The timewalls on the Warbarge are similar, you'd spend a pretty ludicrous amount opening it up, and if you don't, you have to login every other day or lose progress.
Dust had less menacing monetization prior to this. To release new content locked behind it is a legitimate gripe.
As for the other stuff missing from the patch, time will tell. I will say, Rattati and his rag-tag band have made more stuff/content than I ever thought would come to Dust again. I'm not sure a separate P2W passive-bonus tree was really something I wanted though.
The Dren Swarm fiasco.
